The AC MAX Smart app scans the environment by sending a Bluetooth signal to all nearby compatible devices (therefore Bluetooth and Location Service permissions have to be enabled). If an AC MAX Smart receives this request, it replies that it is available and starts its ad-hoc WiFi Access Point. If the customer selects the AC MAX Smart, the connection will be made over the ad-hoc WiFi connnection (not over Bluetooth).
The issue is that old AC MAX Smart models do not have the correct process implemented. Therefore the firmware of the charger must first be updated to version 01.26.24.00 or newer (zip archive file attached (15 MB)).
Solution
1. The installer must connect to the local webserver of the charger (see description in the AC MAX Smart user manual - attached). It is preferred to use the wired Ethernet connection.
2. After connecting to the local webserver of the charger, unzip the firmware file to get the *.bin file.
3. Navigate to the maintenance page and upload the bin file. Select 'Upload and Restart Charger' (as shown).

4. The charger will restart, this takes up to two minutes. During the restart, clear the web browser cache.
5. After the restart, navigate back to the maintenance page and force a reset (restore passwords to default…). Select 'Restore passwords to default values and clear all charging profile' (as shown).
- If you cannot log in to the local web server, reset the password as shown.
- Select 'Forgot Password?'

- Confirm by selecting 'Restore passwords to default values' (as shown).

6. Confirm the restart by clicking 'YES' (as shown).

7. The AC MAX Smart will restart.
8. After the restart, use the smartphone app again and try to connect to the charger. It is most likely necessary to update the Bluetooth chip via the app. This will be shown by the app.
9. To update the Bluetooth chip, it is mandatory that all pairing information in the operation system be deleted (iOS: Bluetooth > My devices > S/N of the charger > i(nformation) > Forget this device / Android: Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > S/N of the charger > unpair).
